On my nightstand...

In addition to my kindle (on top) I have a good bit of summer reading ahead. Some fiction, some non-fiction. Can't decide what to start on. I am always looking for more good recommendations if you want to leave a comment on a "can't put down" book ~ would love to add it to my stack here!

  1. I just finished Julie Orringer's Invisible Bridge. Set in Paris/Hungary right before the onset of WWII the story chronicles 3 brothers; one in Paris as a student of architecture, another in Milan as a medical student and the youngest as a bon vivant in Budapest trying to find himself. It is less a story of the war and more of a story of how life can suddenly derail you and your future and then how you still try to carve a life of love and hope even though the world around is falling apart. Wonderful characters and beautiful writing. A book you can lose yourself in.

  3. Have you read Patti SMith's Bio Just Kids? WHile I was never a fan the book is so beautifully written I didn't want it to end. Also reading a bio on The Widow Clicquot, you know the champagne? It's kind of fascinating.
Hunting and Gathering by Anna Gavalda I read it when I first moved to New York
    :)
